WHAT ARE DOG ENDS?
DOG ENDS are innovative shock absorbing, plastic mesh tail bandages that aid in the treatment of tail tip injuries in dogs.
Tail tip injuries are common in dogs and really frustrating to treat. The constant impacts on a small skin wound as a dog wags their tail stop even shallow wounds from healing. Dog Ends absorb these repeated impacts, allowing the wound to heal.
The light-weight structure is extremely well tolerated by patients and is highly durable, to allow energetic, happy dogs to be themselves!
HOW DO DOG ENDS WORK?
The shock-absorbing mesh tubing is carefully attached using veterinary grade tape, to overhang the tail. The overhanging section of mesh absorbs tail impacts, allowing the underlying tissue to heal.
Unlike other bandage products for tail tip injuries, we use a special mesh that allows ventilation to the skin. This minimises the risk of infection and makes the dressing super lightweight.

Always consult your veterinary surgeon for advice when your dog is injured. Antibiotics, pain relief, sterile dressings or diagnostic tests may be required in addition to this product for complete wound healing.
Always use an appropriately sized Elizabethan collar to prevent chewing of the tail or bandage.
Dog Ends have the best success rate on recent/fresh injuries. As with any bandage or dressing they will not work with every patient. They can still be used on old/chronic injuries but may not always be effective. Tail tip amputation may be necessary on tail tip injuries with severe infection or bone exposure, where medical treatment is not working.
The Dog Ends do not tighten up around the tail – however as with any bandage, if pain or swelling of the wound is observed, always remove the bandage and consult your veterinary surgeon.
